ANCC Certification Update
Following ANCC’s decision to terminate the portfolio program, requests were received for re-consideration of that decision and requests to support applications from individual nurses who were in the process of drafting document submission. In response, the Certification and Measurement leadership team, in collaboration with ANCC executive leaders, has developed the following plan:
1. ANCC will accept applications from individual nurses for the portfolio program until November 17, 2017. This date cannot be extended, therefore nurses are asked to submit their applications as soon as possible.
2. ANCC will provide a certification decision on or before December 8, 2017.
3. Upon request, ANCC will participate in meetings with the executive leaders of each specialty nursing organization affiliated with or otherwise aligned to a portfolio program to explore options for assuming or developing their own certification credential. ANCC will develop a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) as required prior to any further discussion.
Please contact Stephaney Foster at Stephaney.Foster@ana.org to schedule future meetings. Meetings will include members of the Certification and Measurement leadership team and ANCC executive leaders as available. ANCC is willing to host meetings on-site if needed. Meetings can be anticipated to last for approximately 2 hours.
